Quiet Book: Garden Page

Back when my oldest was younger I really wanted to make him a quiet book, but I somehow never got around to it.
Now that my second is a toddler I am getting my butt into gear and getting it done!
Slowly but surely :)
I'll be posting the 'pages' one-by-one with a step-by-step tutorial.
Also, I should mention that I made this a no-sew version, the whole thing is put together with a hot glue gun.
Here is the first page I made.
We'll call this one 'The Garden'
What I love most about this is that I was able to use felt scraps that I already had on hand!
I started out with a piece of white felt, and I cut some brown fabric to cover about 1/2 of the felt.
Using a hot glue gun I glued the edges of the fabric around the felt.
I wanted to do it this way so the fabric wouldn't fray and the edges were clean on the front.
It was after I glued it that I realized I needed to cut little slits, so I used a piece of cardboard and slid it behind the fabric so I didn't cut all the way through.
I used an Exacto knife to cut the slits.
I cut out 4 'onions' using white felt to make a circle and green felt to make the top part.
I then glued the white part to the green.
For the basket I used a cream colored felt and just cut out what I thought would be a good size.
I then glued the bottom and sides of the basket to the main white part.
Do not glue across the straight part.
Also, do not glue it to where it is flat, you want the straight part to kind of stick out a little so your little one can put the veggies in the basket.
I then cut a little strip across the top for the handle.
 I then made 4 carrots.
I cut out a rough shape for the bottom and the top green part. and then glued them together.
For the final veggie I made 4 lettuces.
I just cut out 4 green odd shaped circles.
I also traced around the basket with a black marker to kind of make it pop a little.
And that's it!
Hope you enjoy, and stay tuned for the remaining pages!
