Peppermint Essential Oil Review

I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about this post.

Essential oils have been moving up in popularity over the last few years and it's no surprise why.

I have always wanted to try them, but I never knew where to start, and I never knew which brand to go with.

I saw the opportunity to review this Peppermint oil from Simply Earth and I jumped at the chance.

I did a lot of research before I received this product because I wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into.

First, let's talk about the company.

On the website under 'Our Story' they state that their goal is "...to create high quality products at affordable prices and give back."

That's right, when you purchase a product from Simply Earth 13% of the proceeds go towards their 'Cause of the Month'. This month the proceeds are benefiting The Hope Project this organization helps victims of sex-trafficking with counseling, therapy, and education. Next, let's talk about the actual product.

I took pictures of the sides of the bottle so you could see everything they label.

I found this website Using Essential Oils Safely and they go through and list a bunch of red flags to look for on a website selling oils, and also a lot of green flags (things you want the company to be posting).

I was really happy to look through the Simply Earth website and find that they had all 'green flags' regarding their products.

These flags include listing how to use the oil, safe diluting guidelines, the latin names, shelf life expectancy, etc. 

Lastly, it wouldn't be a proper review unless we've tried the product, and we have. I received this Peppermint oil in the mail a few days ago, and had it with me in my purse.

In the evening we went out to see Christmas lights, and my mother-in-law was in the car with us, she had been at work all day and mentioned that she had a really bad headache.

I got really excited, not because she was in pain, but because it would give us a chance to try this oil out. She has used oils before and knew what to do. She dabbed a tiny bit on her upper temples and let it do it's thing.

One thing I really like is the smell. I'm actually not a huge peppermint fan, but this oil has a very soothing, wonderful aroma, and it doesn't hurt that this has come around Christmas time either. It's perfect :)

My mother-in-law also commented on the fragrance.

By the time we got where we were going her headache was gone.

I was glad she was able to use the oil for her headache so she was able to enjoy the evening with us.

I have been researching the other benefits of peppermint oil and I know it's one I'll be glad to have on hand from headaches to tummy aches, I see it's use in our future!

I may even try my hand at using it to make some bath salts or something along those lines, has anyone dabbled in that before? How did it turn out?
