Patriotic Pinwheel Headband

A few weeks ago I was talking to my neighbor and her little girl was wearing the cutest romper!
It was red with white stars, the perfect little outfit for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
I jumped at the opportunity to make her a headband to complete her look :)
Let's dive right in and see how this little beauty was made!
First, cut out 3 squares. Red, white, and blue...of course.
I cut each square 3"x3"
Starting at each corner, cut a line towards the middle, but not all the way across.
Next, layer the squares with the blue on the bottom, red in the middle, and white on top.
Take a corner and fold in towards the middle. Use a small dot of glue from a hot glue gun to keep it in place.
 Continue all around the square.
Next go around the square and fold in the white corners, gluing as you go.
And then fold and glue the blue fabric.
You could finish here and glue a bead in the middle and attach an elastic at the back, but I decided to add one more layer underneath.
I cut another 3"x3" blue square and white square, slit the sides, and placed the white on top of the blue.
I folded and glued the white and blue,
Place glue in the middle of the blue/white pinwheel and place the other pinwheel on top.
I found this bead in my stash and glued it right in the middle of the pinwheel.
Glue the elastic to the back of the pinwheel and then glue a small piece of fabric over the elastic it to keep it from rubbing on your little one's head :)
Here is my sweet little neighbor modeling her new headband for us :)
I love the colors with her cute little curls!!
