Pregnancy Announcement and some advice

I've got some exciting news to share...
That's right!
We are expecting baby #3!!
(I actually started this post last week...so we are already a week behind...better late than never I guess!)
We are beyond thrilled and our little family can't wait to embark on this journey together.
I actually took the pregnancy test on a Saturday while my husband and oldest son were out running errands. I of course wanted to tell them when they got back, and it seemed like it took them FOREVER to get home!
I showed them the test and we all started jumping, screaming, hugging...it was awesome!

34 Weeks

6 weeks to go people!!!
(Although I think he will come about 2 weeks early...it's getting close!)
My sister-in-law just gave birth on Sunday to a beautiful baby boy, and it makes me even more excited to meet our little guy :)
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July.
We went to a parade in the morning, the pool in the afternoon, and an Angel's baseball game in the evening.
It was a lot of fun.
Ok, so onto the pregnancy updates.
Weight gain: 22 lbs!
Maternity clothes? I caved! I was at Old Navy last week because they had all of their flip-flops on sale for $1, and I wandered around in the maternity section. I found a cute maternity t-shirt on clearance, so I got it.
That's my first 'maternity clothing' purchase for this pregnancy.
Wedding ring? Still on. No swollen fingers here!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Discomfort? Ha! Yes! My Braxton Hicks contractions are a lot stronger and more frequent. I also get this frequent weird pain kind of where my sternum is, it's like a pinched nerve-type feeling. It's really painful.
Events: We had a doctor's appointment today. Since my contractions are pretty frequent he wanted to check everything just in case.
He said the baby's head is really low, but I'm not dilated yet, and the contractions aren't making any progress, so everything still looks perfect!
Also, my husband had some time off last week, so I had him help me get down our boxes with my son's old baby clothes. I want to start washing things and hanging them up in the closet so we are ready to go!
Oh, no name picked out yet....still trying hard to think of something that seems right...

28 Weeks

Well, we skipped week #27, but that's ok because we were on a week long vacation to Utah!
It was so much fun going back 'home' and seeing a lot of our wonderful friends and family.
I feel like we crammed in everything we wanted to see and do, so huge success.
I was nervous about driving 10+ hours and being almost 7 months pregnant, but I was totally fine.
Weight gain: I'm not 100% positive, I think 17 lbs...? I have an appointment next week, so I'll know for sure then. I will admit that since we were on vacation, there was a lot of eating out...so I know I gained something! :)
Maternity clothes? Not yet. I think I have ruled out all of my pants now though. :(
I'm a little bummed because with my first pregnancy I wore my same pants all the way until the end. All of my pants/capris still fit just fine everywhere except right under my belly where you button them up. Even when I wrap an elastic around the button, when I sit down they are a little uncomfortable.
I might have to give in and buy a pair of maternity capris...or wear a skirt everyday...we'll see I guess, I'm just taking it one day at a time!
Discomfort? Since we were running around doing so much last week, at the end of the day I had some pretty good back pain. After relaxing for a bit it would go away. Sometimes I forget how big my belly has gotten, and I try to bend over to pick something up, but my body quickly reminds me that I can't do that as easily anymore!
Events: I started doing 'kick counts' this week :) (You basically just time the baby to see how long it takes him to move/kick 5 times). Don't worry, my little guy hasn't gone more than 10 minutes, he is active!! :)

15 weeks

Hello everyone, on to another week!!
So I have decided to do my weekly pregnancy updates on the weekends instead.
It just makes it easier on me :)
Weight gain: I think I'm up to 3 pounds of weight gain.
Cravings: I've been loving Ritz crackers and peanut butter lately. I was also craving a spinach salad, and I finally got all of the ingredients last week to make it. I think I've had it 3 times already, I'll have to post the recipe for that, it's yummy!
Maternity clothes? Nope! But if you look through the pregnancy update pictures you might notice I'm wearing the same 2 pairs of jeans. Yep, only 2 pairs are still comfortable enough :)
Events: Nothing too eventful to really report this week. Everything is just going really well, and I am very thankful that I have had such a wonderful pregnancy so far.

14 weeks

That's right, we are out of the 1st trimester, and at the beginning of the 2nd!
Weight gain: 2 1/2 pounds
Sickness? Nope. I'm just tired, and I need a nap!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Maternity clothes? Not yet. :)
Discomfort? I have decided my belly has a mind of it's own. In the mornings when I wake up until about mid-afternoon my stomach doesn't stick out very far. Then in the evenings my stomach doubles in size! I'm not exaggerating either! It's weird. So, in the evenings my pants feel a little tighter (obviously), so I just change into something more comfy :)
Events: You read the chalkboard right, this past week I felt the little one fluttering around in there!! It's usually more in the evenings when I'm sitting on the couch relaxing.
Definitely one of my favorite parts of pregnancy!
I'm so excited for when the baby gets a little bit bigger, and then my son will be able to feel the baby kicking too :)

12 weeks

Hi everyone!
I'm back with the pregnancy tracker :)
and I've got a bump!!!
So, I had an ultrasound appointment yesterday to check the growth of the baby.
(If you are new to the blog, a couple of weeks ago I went in for an appointment.
I should have been 9 weeks along, but the baby was only measuring at 7 weeks.
The doctor decided to have me come back for another ultrasound to double-check everything).
So, going off of the 'new' calculations, I should have been 11 weeks yesterday.
Well, the baby was measuring at 12 weeks.
The doctor said the baby was probably just curled up in a weird position last time.
Yeah, this little guy is already giving us a hard time!! :)
With the new measurements, my new due date is August 21, 2013.

Stats:
Weight gain: I've now gained 2 pounds total
Any sickness? Nope, I'm feeling great. I accredit to all the sunshine we've been getting!
I can't feel all yucky when I'm able to feel that warmth on my face and get some fresh air!!
Discomfort? I officially can't sleep flat on my stomach anymore :(
This is a hard thing for me.
That's how I get comfy.
(Back when I found out I was pregnant with my son, I started 'training' myself to sleep on my side just so I would be used to it later on in my pregnancy.
Well, when I found out I was pregnant this time, I started my 'sleep training' all over again, but I haven't been as consistent with it, so it's taken a bit longer for me to get used to it).
Maternity clothes: Nope! But I do have a couple pairs of  jeans that I sometimes need to unbutton while I'm sitting.
Stretch marks? Nope! I didn't get any with my previous pregnancy, but just as a precaution, I am putting lotion on my belly every day :)
Events: Well since we got to have our extra ultrasound yesterday,
I took my son with me to the appointment and we got to hear the heartbeat again.
We also got to see the baby moving around, a lot!
It was really cool, because you don't normally get an ultrasound until around 17 weeks or later, and the baby is bigger by then, so they are usually more curled up.
Since our little one is earlier on we got to see little legs stretch out, and arms move around, and little hands fold over the tummy.
It was beautiful.

9 weeks

I'm 9 weeks along everyone!
(Well at least we think...maybe not though..I'll explain in a moment).
I hope to get some crafty/DIY posts up this next coming week, I honestly don't know where all my time has gone...
Anyways,
Stats
Weight gain/loss: Still just the 1 pound.
Any sickness? Not really. I am still pretty tired, and I feel nauseated every so often, but nothing that keeps me down!
I must say being pregnant with my first was so much easier!
Even though I was working full-time while pregnant with him, I could still go home after work and take a nap whenever I wanted, and sleep in on my days off.
Not so much now :) It's all good though. I must say to all you moms out there who have more than one child and you're pregnant,
YOU AMAZE ME!
Events: We FINALLY got to hear the baby's heartbeat!
We had our appointment last Friday, and I took my son with me again. I'm so glad I decided to switch doctors, we LOVE the new one, he is awesome!
My son loved hearing the heartbeat :)
So here's the thing. According to ovulation and everything I'm right at 9 weeks and 2 days.
According to the ultrasound the baby is only measuring at 7 weeks and 2 days, which means I'm most likely only 7 weeks and 2 days along.
The doctor doesn't want to change my due date yet, but I'm pretty sure it's going to happen...I've got another appointment in three weeks to check the growth and see how everything looks, so we'll go from there.
Other than that the baby looks great, and has a very strong, fast heartbeat.
(The doctor said according to an old-wives tale, a faster heartbeat means a girl.
We're still pretty sure we're getting a boy, so we'll see).
Since we're not exactly sure now how far along I am, this will be the last pregnancy update until I have my next appointment. That way I can see where we are at.

*Just a tip for you, make sure you find a doctor YOU like.
Make sure you find someone who will address your concerns and listen.
The previous doctor I saw doesn't do any ultrasounds until about 17 weeks, (which is totally fine, you don't need an ultrasound right away), but I am glad I switched because now we know I'm not as far along as we thought. I know it's not that big of a deal, but I like knowing as much info as I can.

8 weeks

I'm now 8 weeks pregnant :)
So far so good!
I noticed last week that I was feeling lightheaded and weak in the mornings, every morning, and mostly into the afternoon as well, and I thought to myself...morning sickness, NO!!!
But, I figured out a way around it! How did I manage this feat you might ask?
Well, I have learned that I cannot go a long time without eating.
If I do I start to feel very sick.
So, I am constantly eating small meals or snacks all day.
I thought to myself, "hmmm there is a little bean sized baby in there taking all of my food, and the time between dinner and breakfast is such a long stretch", so I had a 'LIGHTBULB' moment, I decided to eat a small snack right before I go to bed.
Guess what??
I feel perfectly fine in the mornings now :)
No more feeling crappy all day, YAY!
Now, do I like eating right before bed? No.
Do I want to get in the habit of eating right before bed? Nope.
But, it's what my little baby needs right now, and so the sacrifice will be made!

Ok, on to the stats!
Weight gain/loss: I have actually already gained 1 pound!
Any sickness? Not anymore ;)
Cravings: Since we moved here to California, 4 months ago, I found out they have a Cafe Rio here, and I've been craving it this whole time, so this week we finally went :). Since fulfilling that craving, I've been wanting Cashew Chicken...anyone have a good recipe to share??
Events: We actually went to the doctor yesterday for our first appointment. I took our son to the appointment, and we were so excited to hear the heartbeat!
When we got there we found out this doctor's office doesn't do any ultrasounds until 20 weeks :(
My son and I were both pretty bummed.
Long story short we weren't as thrilled with the whole visit, so we are going to see a new doctor next week!
And they do ultrasounds, so we'll get to hear the baby next week :)

I have an announcement!!!

We are so excited to announce that we're having another baby!!!!!
If you want to check out the tutorial I posted on how to make the chalkboard, click here.
I have of course let my son use the chalkboard to draw on as much as he wants, but
I have been waiting to use it for this exact purpose. A pregnancy tracker!
I feel like I've been waiting for what seems like forever, (it's only been like 3 months since I made it)...patience is a virtue!
So I was so excited to finally bust it out.
I will be using the chalkboard throughout my pregnancy to track the weeks, my stats, and the size of my belly :)
So stay tuned in the coming weeks!!
